The Walsall Open Air Market

The open air market in Walsall was a extravagant affair, people used to come from as far north as Aberdeen and beyond to visit the thriving and vibrant market. This was not good enough for Walsall MBC who decided that they needed to stifle this. In the last ten years they have done everything to ensure the market does not survive from mismanagement and red tape to ensuring parking and rents were such a problem that the Market Traders abandoned the market in their droves. In its heyday the market stretched from the sister Dora’s statue to the edge of St Mathews Church Hill. Now its a shameful few meagre stalls. To top it all off they were in charge of Markets in Brownhills, Willenhall, Darlaston and Walsall. Well done guys. How do i know this, because i used to have a stall there until in the end i had to go bankrupt.
